Last updated on Wednesday 30th January.

Sky Sports F1 moving Sky EPG slots from February 4th

The Sky Sports F1 channel is changing EPG slots on the Sky platform, it has been confirmed. Throughout the 2012 season, the channel could be accessed via channel 408, for 2013 that will change with the channel moving slots on February 4th. The channel will move to channel slot 406, replacing MUTV which will move to channel 418.

Scheduling: Sky Sports’ coverage of Jerez test

The scheduling details of Sky Sports’ coverage of the first Formula 1 test of the 2013 season from Jerez have today been confirmed. Alongside the Sky Sports News live daily updates with Rachel Brookes or Craig Slater, the channel will be airing 15-minute ‘segments’ of each day – all in one go on Saturday 9th February. There is nothing currently scheduled for each day from Tuesday 5th February, and nor is there coverage on the channel of the car launches. At the moment, the schedule is as follows for Sky Sports F1:

Tuesday 5th February
21:00 to 21:30 – Day 1 Highlights
– 15-minute round-up at 21:00
– Ted’s Notebook at 21:15

Wednesday 6th February
16:30 to 17:00 – Day 1 Highlights (R)
21:00 to 21:30 – Day 2 Highlights

21:00 to 21:40 – Day 3 Highlights
– 15-minute round-up at 21:00
– Ted’s Notebook at 21:15

Friday 8th February

—-
18:00 – Day 1 Highlights (R)
18:30 – Day 2 Highlights (R)
19:00 – Day 3 Highlights (R)
19:35 – Day 4 Highlights (R)

Friday 15th February
18:30 to 19:30 – The F1 Show
– simulcast on Sky Sports 1

What the 15-minute shows will consist of is unknown, but it will likely be a few interviews from each day along with clips of the action.

Also of note is that The F1 Show will be repeated on the main Sky Sports channels throughout this year. Given how poorly the 20:00 editions of The F1 Show performed last year, I wouldn’t be surprised if 18:30 is a permanent slot for the F1 Show going forward for the studio editions.

It is possible that the above may change, if so I will update this blog post.

Update on January 26th – Sky have added the 15-minute shows on to each evening at 21:00.

Update on January 29th – Extremely pleased to add Ted Kravitz’s Notebook to the above, every day at 21:15! I will add details of the Barcelona tests once Jerez has finished as it is possible that more things may be added before then, in the meantime the provisional Sky schedule is here.

Update on February 1st – The times for Saturday 9th February have been updated, I expect this to be the final amendment to the Sky schedules for Jerez.

Update on February 2nd – More repeats added of the testing coverage, for mid-day afternoons. It also looks like The F1 Show will be simulcast on Sky Sports 1 for all new editions, not just repeats.
